Purely Resistive Load Applications: learn more about CD Automation solutions

In purely resistive load applications, the selection of a suitable power controller is essential. CD Automation, with its wide range of innovative products, meets this need. For applications requiring resistors with low temperature variation and normal life, the ideal solution is the REVO S Family, which supports currents up to 800A. These devices are designed to ensure efficient and reliable load management while maintaining stability and precision.
When requirements exceed 800A, CD Automation offers the REVO C Extended Family, which handles currents up to 2100A.This series is particularly appreciated for its ability to offer advanced serial communication and sophisticated voltage control, which ensures stability even in the presence of mains voltage fluctuations.
To further optimise power control and reduce energy consumption, CD Automation presents the REVO PC. This unit is designed to minimise power peaks, contributing significantly to energy savings. It also offers various communication options, including fieldbus protocols, and integrates seamlessly with the REVO S family of products.
Finally, the REVO PN multi-channel units represent the cutting edge in handling purely resistive loads. Using the same technology as the REVO PC, these units include an integrated SCR (thyristor) for each channel, offering a complete and versatile solution for all power control needs.

SCR units for loads on the secondary side of a transformer: discover the REVO C family of power controllers

In the context of applications involving transformers, one of the most significant challenges is the effective handling of loads placed on the secondary. In particular, it is crucial to prevent damage caused by current peaks occurring when switching on the primary, which can damage fuses or thyristors. The REVO C family from CD Automation meets this need with advanced and reliable solutions.

For single-phase loads up to 800A, the REVO C unit offers optimum performance, providing effective surge protection and precise load regulation. This unit has been designed with the specific requirements of transformers in mind, offering an ideal solution for a wide range of applications.
For loads requiring higher capacity, the REVO C Extended is the recommended choice. With its ability to handle currents up to 2100A, this power regulator ensures reliable control even in the most demanding applications, while maintaining system stability and efficiency.
In addition, for applications using three-phase transformers, CD Automation presents the REVO C 3PH. This unit has been specifically developed to offer exceptional power control in three-phase environments, demonstrating the versatility and innovation that characterise the REVO C family.

BAKE OUT function against humidity

The isolated MgO type heating elements, if not used for a long period of time (or if left in storage for a long period), can absorb humidity. If maximum power is applied to the elements, excessive current can damage them or blow fuses to protect the unit. With the BAKEOUT function present on the new REVO C 1PH and 3PH it is possible to start the ignition gradually, so as to remove the humidity present on the heater and avoid damage.
